Product Description
This single cross hybrid has strong plants, quite tall and full of branches and leaves. In addition to having a very good seed performance, its forage crop is also significant and can be cultivated for two purposes (seed-forage). Hybrid Barakat 3 has the ability to grow in most conditions and if it is under a Good management (on time planting & harvesting operation) and it will produce agood performance. Due to the leaf potential and proper establishment and discipline of leaves on the stem, this variety can be very successful in producing forage. In relatively warm areas, the ripening time to 50% Tasseling about 52 to 56 days and silking 54 to 59 days, which is a week earlier than 704. The maturity period for this hybrid is about 123-128 days and it belongs to the FAO 650 group. Flowering time of this hybrid is long, but at very high temperatures, it will have a lot of drop on pollination and inoculation. Therefore, it is recommended that the cultivation program, especially in the southern regions, be adjusted so that pollination does not face the peak annual heat. If this happens, it is recommended to minimize the stress on the plant by watering at shorter times. The maizes are located in the middle of the plant (height 75-85 cm above the ground). The color of the plants is dark green and due to having completely wide and dense leaves and almost vertical, it has received favorable light, which causes more performance. The roots and stems are very strong, which allows them to last much longer in the field during full ripening and natural drying. Maizes are very large & long with 16-18 rows. The length of the maize will be an average of 26-28 cm when it is fully inoculated and properly fed, producing 48-50 seeds per row. 1000 seeds weight about 240 to 270 grams. Due to having smaller maiz wood, the ratio of seed weight to maiz reaches more than 80%. In medium growing conditions, th recommended plant density for cultivating this cultivar is between 65,000-60,000 plants per hectare. This cultivar is relatively sensitive to high densities and increasing the density usually making maizes smaller and it decreases the grain performance. Therefore, it is recommended that the amount of seed consumed per hectare should not exceed 24 kg (taking into account the percentage of Germination and purity). This cultivar has relatively good resistance to heat stress conditions and shows less leaf damage compared to 704. The rate of seed's water loss in this hybrid after cessation of irrigation is very high and its grain performance can be harvested much earlier than similar species. If the mentioned conditions are observed and proper management, there is the ability to produce grain yield of more than 9 tons and forage yield of more than 90 tons.
